We are a small, Canadian, grassroots organization working to support and empower children with disabilities (and their families) in the global south (“developing countries”). Founded in 2001, we have been working primarily in Peru for the last 17 years.
You can learn more about the needs and why we do what we do here.
Our work focuses on the following interconnected areas: the provision of assistive technology; Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services; education and awareness; human rights promotion; and support services.
Each year we provide specialized custom-fitted wheelchairs to over 50 children in need from the southern regions of Peru. We also hold over a dozen workshops for families, teachers, other professionals and community members, in an effort to provide crucial information to those who need it, and to build connections between individuals and organizations. And, last but not least, we provide ongoing support and assistance to dozens of families and organizations working with children with disabilities in Peru throughout the year.
(We are currently redeveloping this website. Please check back soon for much more information about our work with children with disabilities in Peru. In the meantime, check out our Facebook page for recent photos and updates about our work. Thank-you for your patience!)
