Through our human rights program we seek to raise awareness and knowledge (within Peru, within Canada, and throughout the global community) about the issues facing children with disabilities in the Global South, and about the rights of these children and their families. By building knowledge and awareness among non-disabled people around the world, and among people with disabilities from countries like Canada, we hope to generate and encourage solidarity and to create a greater community of support. In addition, we work with local organizations in Peru in order to increase pressure on local and national governments to respect the rights of children with disabilities and to thus create long-lasting sustainable changes towards a more equal and just world for all children.
