Education and Awareness

Our education program seeks to provide information  relating to childhood disability to families, professionals, politicians and community members. Each year we provide over a dozen workshops (ranging from 2 hrs to 2 weeks in length) wherein we may provide information about general disability topics (what is disability, different kinds of disabilities, etc.); therapeutic support and strategies for supporting kids with disabilities (including information on seating and positioning, feeding, AAC and providing opportunities for stimulation and learning); including children with disabilities in the classroom (inclusive teaching strategies and practices including practical tips and activities, AAC, etc.); and disability and human rights. In addition, we have held four large international conferences on AAC and we continue to develop educational materials that can be used and shared by families, professional and members of the community.
