We are a small, grassroots organization and we rely heavily on the support of others to advance our mission of supporting children with disabilities (and their families) in Peru and beyond. Here are just a few of the ways that you can get involved, show your solidarity, and join us in our efforts:

Volunteer
As a volunteer-run organization, we rely on the solidarity, time, and expertise of others to advance and continue our work.
We are actively seeking volunteers to help with communications and awareness building, translations (English/Spanish), fundraising initiatives, event planning, assistive technology acquisition, and logistics.
We would also like to work with disability advocates and/or professionals with expertise in AAC, occupational therapy, assistive technology, or teaching children with disabilities to create additional materials to support families, teachers, and professionals in the Global South.
Lastly, we have occasional volunteer opportunities for rehabilitation professionals (OT, PT, SLP, ATP) within Peru. For those interested, a minimum stay of two weeks is required (though longer is preferred), as is the investment of some time before your trip for education, preparation, and planning.
Please get in touch if you are interested in volunteering. You can write us at info@equipkids.org
Donate ($)
We receive no government funding and rely exclusively on the solidarity and support of other organizations and individuals like you to continue our work. Please consider joining us and showing your solidarity through a financial contribution. As a Canadian registered charity, you will receive a tax receipt for your contribution.
Monthly contributions are particularly welcome, as they are more sustainable and they allow us to better plan for the year and to dedicate more of our time and energy to advancing our grassroots efforts.
Donate (equipment)
Do you have new or used pediatric mobility or rehabilitation equipment that is not in use? We accept donated equipment from families, non-profit organizations, and companies, and we give it new life. All donated equipment is cleaned and refurbished (as necessary) and shipped to Peru, where it will be custom-fitted to a child in need who would not otherwise have access to such vital assistive devices. All in-kind donations of equipment are also eligible for a tax receipt for the assessed value of the device(s).
Activities and events
Upcoming events and activities are posted on our News and Events page and through our social media platforms. Join us to learn more about our work, generate interest and support, and have fun!
Spread the word
One of the easiest things you can do is spread the word. Share information about Equip KIDS’ work with your networks and/or anyone you think might be interested, and help us educate others about the needs and rights of people with disabilities in the Global South (developing countries).
